On April 19 in the city hall was held strting conference for Project Bicycle Oasis, which is financed from the IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme Hungary-Croatia. The total value of the project is 599,809 euros, for Koprivnica, as the lead beneficiary, 305 403 euros and for the project partner, the Hungarian City of Heviz 294,406 euros.
Heviz was presented by Jozsef Janos Kepli, Andrea Molnar, Otto Vasas, Gabor Sallai and Istvan Hegedus, and mayor Gabor Papp give welcoming speech. In front of City of Koprivnica present welcomed Helena Hećimović advisor of the deputy mayor and both Croatia and Hungary concluded that this project is only the beginning of a long-term cooperation.
Vedrana Knežević, project manager, gave a presentation that showed the goals of the project as well as plans and obligations of Koprivnica. The main idea of the project is to set up a high-tech bike sharing systems, digitize existing bicycle routes and motivate tourists to take advantage of this new service, while the main goal is development of the tourist offer through positioning the project partners as well as unique and active eco-tourism destination.
The project started on March 1st 2013 and will last until October 31st of 2014.

Hévíz is a spa town in Zala County, Hungary, about 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Keszthely. The town is located near Hévíz lake, the world’s second-largest thermal lake. It provides facilities for visitors seeking to use the medicinal waters of the lake, including hotels, parks, sports and entertainment. Official population in 2012 was 4,375. The Hévíz Thermal Lake, managed by Hévíz Thermal bath Ltd. is considered a national treasure.
